Back in October we were invited to watch a sneak preview of The Social Network, the fictionalised account of the rise of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Since its announcement we’ve followed the mixed bag of reactions the film received and its performance at sunday night’s Academy Awards was no different. The Social Network was nominated for 8 awards, and was tipped for Best Picture, however when the results were announced David Fincher’s picture only walked away with 3 Oscars – Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Film Editing. The Social Network lost out to British film The King’s Speech for Best Picture. Oh well, at least Zuckerberg has 500 million friends to console him…
