Meet Dot, a 0.35-inch model who is on a microscopic adventure fleeing her world of fabric as it becomes unstitched. Dot has put her creators, U.K animators Aardman, in to the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s smallest stop-motion animation… using a Nokia N8 smartphone! The Nokia N8 has a macro-lens attachment, CellScope (microscope for mobile phones), which was then attached to the N8 and its 12MP camera. These geeky technical details are made magical and universally appreciable by W+K and Aardman who have now made the smartphone a must-have. The strategy to promote the Nokia N8 and the essence of this viral video was “It’s not technology, it’s what you do with it”, and they have certainly done something special.
